I dip you dip we dip

Salmon cream hors d'oeuvre
At the premiere of the new IMAX film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk, hors d'oeuvres and beverages abounded, including trays of these thoroughly charming mini ice cream cones filled with smoked salmon cream and dipped in poppy or sesame seeds. This is a cute presentation that I imagine could lend itself to any kind of soft dip or spread, which could be piped into the cones and then dipped into seeds, spices, chopped herbs, or anything teeny-tiny that could stand in for sprinkles. Where to get the cones and specially fitted trays is another matter, though.

Other eats at the premiere: rare steak on baguette round, with horseradish cream; corn cake topped with chicken salad; mini sausage pizza-like thing; mini empanada. All tasty tasty.
